Kids take up this habit as a getaway from all this so as to seek some peace, however in the long run this takes a toll on them and any habit developed at adolescent age is very hard to give up later in the life.

- Know the source – The biggest threat is not knowing what is causing the child or the teen to have this rough time. This could be because of bad sleep schedule or due to the skipping of meals or in many cases of not having good friends. Once you know the source, one can work out a plan to take it ahead. Many a times kids are been bullied at school or some other place which has a huge toll on their mental health.
- Counselling – There are many counselling places which helps the teen with some paired of medications which are prescribed by professionals. There are several anti-depressants present today which can help a kid get through this tough stage. Counselling can be done at school or by a professional outside as well. Counselling has been said to be the best form of treating mental illness in adolescent.
- A good environment at home – Most of the teens go through depression or anxiety because of the conditions at home maybe because of poverty or because of family issues. Many a times the parents are so engulfed in their work that they forget to give the kids some time which causes them to be distant and socially isolated. Many a times parents put their kids through so much expectations that kids are anxious of every test and every decision they make in their life. Many of the anxiety cases are just because of the parent’s expectations and kids running to fulfil them.
