Tiny Diet Changes That Can Help You Lose Weight
When one knows the fundamentals of dieting and the changes it can bring, they wouldn’t ever want to give up on it. So, here we are to bust such myths, instill tiny changes in the way you diet, and teach that dieting doesn’t necessarily mean ‘survival only on air and water’! Let’s begin.
Eat Less, Eat More!
You don’t necessarily have to eat all the food in one go, be it in breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can have small chunks of food all day long, but yes, they have to be ‘small’. Don’t eat the banana, cereal, yogurt, salad- all in breakfast! Have only, say, banana and yogurt and then maybe keep the salad for lunch. In this way, you can have all you like, but in a systematic way, that helps you lose weight simultaneously.
C’mon, Bring On The Fat!
Okay, we’re sure many must have said to cut out the fat as much as possible. But that just isn’t true. See, there are two types of fats and you must know the difference between them.
- Saturated Fat– Their high quantities are highly harmful to a person who wants to lose weight. Thus, they should be avoided at any cost. Foods that contain saturated fats are biscuits, chips, fatty meat, sausages, burgers, kebabs, pastries, etc.
- Unsaturated Fat– They constitute an integral part of a healthy diet routine. For instance, unsaturated fats help in cutting out the excessive urge for having more food, thus, reducing appetite. So, it is much wiser to include unsaturated fats in your diet plan as they tend to easily cover up the need for saturated ones. Foods that contain such fats are olives, almonds, peanuts, cashews, fish, avocados, corn, etc.
Watch Out Your Protein Intake!
We’d call it your worst mistake if you have started taking those protein pills out in the market, trending these days. Understand that the trend will not last, but your body will. Many brands sell packed proteins in the form of pills, but they should not be consumed unless prescribed by your doctor.
Do you know what is better and much healthier? Consuming proteins in their original form so that they can be processed by the body easily and put into use. Dieting doesn’t mean cutting out food. Have fresh food containing proteins and avoid consuming packed food. Fresh food builds a fresh body!
Snack Better!
See, to gain something, you got to give up a bad habit, especially if that habit is to have unhealthy snacks in the evening. If you want to have something after a tiresome day, then make it healthy.
After all, healthy food is much tastier than any junk food. Remember, it is called ‘junk food’ for a reason! A piece of simple advice: Replace biscuits by salad or something light, like nuts for your evening snacks. The latter ones are healthy and will certainly help you burn excess calories!
Don’t be excessively picky!
You should not forget that your body needs every type of nutrient that exists. Be it carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, vitamins, and even fats! Select food based on the number of nutrients that they carry. Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are required by the body in large amounts.
So, be smart. Don’t put everything or anything on your grocery list. Although minerals and vitamins are required in small amounts, that does not mean that they are not needed at all! Keep an eye on your nutrient intake. This is what will make you stand out in your group!
Fruits Vs Juice!
Most people who are new to dieting will recommend you increase your juice intake. However, we would slightly disagree on this. The juice is good, but when it comes to being compared with fruits, the latter always wins. Always. Juice provides your body with the necessary acids, vitamins, and minerals but fruits bring much more! For instance, fruits bring roughage and fiber. Roughage and fiber carry extreme importance. They play crucial roles in the digestion of food, absorption of nutrients as well as in excretion of waste. There might arise several health issues if they aren’t fed to the body!
Didn’t Workout, Did You?
Exercise carries immense potential to make you lose extra weight. It doesn’t have to be in a gym or outside the home. It can be easily done in your home. So, better set aside at least 25-30 minutes every day for a workout!
