PHDSC partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop the content and prototype for the WHO Web-based Global Gateway: eHealth Data Standardization and Interoperability Resource (Gateway)
The Gateway will serve as a global online informational and education resource to support the WHO's overall eHealth Program, and particularly the WHO Health Data Standardization and Interoperability Initiative.
The initial phase of the project of the Gateway consists of one Module:
Future phases may include additional Modules:
- Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Module - an informational and educational resource that describes HIT standards, the standardization process, and standard development organizations and other entities involved. The original content for this module was developed by PHDSC for the PHDSC Web-Resource Center: Public Health HIT Standardization under the Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) entitled "Assure HIT Standards for Public Health". The content had been modified to align with the WHO requirements for the Gateway.
- National eHealth Policies and Practices Module - a country-specific informational resource that identifies, documents, and references national and sub-national eHealth programs, policies, and practices, national eHealth coordinating agencies, HIT standardization initiatives, and HIT adoption stories.
